A customer received what she described as ‘the best Christmas present ever’ this week.
Back in October two of our customers were travelling from Slough to Aberdeenshire and stopped at Tebay Northbound with their cat called Lucky. The customers were relocating and when they checked on Lucky at Tebay she managed to escape from the car and disappeared. After searching for Lucky they soon had to continue with their journey north.
Our colleagues at Tebay Northbound searched for the cat, visited local rescue centres and even set humane cat traps but with no luck. Members of the team eventually discovered her living at the back of the Tebay Services site, near Tebay Services Hotel, but no one could catch her. Louise Griffiths, Tebay Services Operations Manager, said,
‘I’ve been running around the Hotel car park several times with a packet of cat treats but with no success! No one has been able to pick her up. We know that she’s been safe though and we’ve been feeding her and keeping her owners updated.’
However, yesterday there was a breakthrough! Our colleague from our Finance team, Jeremy, checked one of the humane cat traps he’d set and unbelievably, just in time for Christmas, Lucky was inside.
Lucky’s owners came to collect her straight away and we were delighted to see her reunited with her family. Colleagues even sent her home with a Christmas present! Louise added,
‘She got a taste for Lily’s cat food which we sell in the Farmshop so we sent her home with lots to keep her happy over the festive period!’
